Natacha Bryan is a London born writer, poet, storyteller and emerging live artist. Her work has been published in numerous publications, including Ambit and Iota. Her debut pamphlet poetry collection, If I talked everything my eyes saw, won the 2014 Pighog Press and Poetry School prize and her ritual theatre piece, Nine Night, was featured as part of The Yard Theatre’s NOW 15′ experimental theatre festival.
Her stories and poems attempt to explore experiences that have been swallowed, obfuscated, overlooked or said out the side of our mouths. Her work is evocative and intimate. It draws upon autobiography, employs magical realism and is known for striking images and musicality. Ritual has a great influence on her making process, this had led her to understand her creations as offerings and/or honourings. She has recently started using ritual as a device to present her work and disrupt the usual relationship between ‘artist’ and ‘spectator’.
